At Hyperion Robotics, we are on a mission to bring sustainability to the construction industry. As such, we want to develop sustainable 3D printable mixes that incorporates waste materials.

We are looking for a proactive materials scientist to help us in development of cementitious mortar mixes for 3D printing and bringing them to the market. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare our current recipe for certification and develop new mixes based on project requirements. Our particular focus lies in upcycling waste stream industrial products as ingredients of our mortars.

SPecific Duties

  1. Develop new mix designs and iterate on previously designed mixes.
  2. Run experiments for research and development and quality control testing.
  3. Evaluate material for durability testing as per ASTM Standards.
  4. Work with construction materials manufacturers to ensure new mix designs can be manufactured.
  5. Manage the material testing of newly developed mixes as well as monitor the testing of printed elements.
  6. Provide recommendations and/or research cementitious mixes for non 3D printing purposes.



PhD in Material Science or equivalent industry experience 

Masters in Material Science with up to 4 years of industry experience

Preferably you have experience in

(one or more of the following)

• concrete technology
• development of custom cementitious mixes
• testing procedures and methodologies 
• bringing products to the market
• working on multi-disciplinary problems
• development of materials for industrial applications at scale
