Fastned partnered with Hyperion Robotics to develop a custom robotically manufactured foundation system for its growing network of high-power EV charging stations across Europe.
We designed and produced 60 custom concrete foundations to support infotainment screens at Fastned charging hubs – engineered to fit within the landscaped flower beds surrounding the charging areas without compromising site design or programme.
By optimising the geometry, we reduced the foundation’s footprint, cut material use by 60% and lowered embodied CO₂ by 40% compared with conventional alternatives.
Manufactured offsite and warehouse-stored, the foundations can be picked up on demand as new charging stations come online – supporting faster deployment and simpler logistics across multiple sites.
The design has now been standardised within Fastned’s internal deployment model, opening the door to wider rollout across its European charging network.
