FoundationS

Hyperion’s optimised block foundations save up to 70% of material compared to traditional pad foundations, making them easy and fast to install on site. In addition, by utilising the excavated soil, the number of trucks required for soil removal is reduced. It can be used as a support for portal frames, electrical equipment, light posts, signs.

Trenches

Hyperion’s trenches can be used in demanding underground situations. With up to 30% material saving compared to traditional trenches, they are ideal for efficient transport and installation on site. Customised walls

Optimised wall segments are designed, utilising 30% less material compared to traditional L-shaped ones. They can be customised on demand with various patterns and dimensions. They are designed to EN 1992 and EN 1997 for concrete soil retaining structures.

FAQs

Are Hyperion’s products reinforced?

Yes, they are, because only a very small percent of all concrete structures in the world is unreinforced. We offer several reinforcement options: traditional steel rebar for both vertical and horizontal reinforcement and stainless steel continuous horizontal wire reinforcement combined with vertical rebar reinforcement.

Does Hyperion’s technology comply with codes and regulations?

Code compliance is not a feature, but the DNA of our technology. We design structures that comply with Eurocodes EN 1990 and EN 1992 and our material complies with EN 206. In addition, we follow a rigorous quality control procedure which ensures that the structures being printed are complying with our clients specifications. We are also currently a member of the Global Committee (JG80) led by construction expert Stephan Mansour where we are looking to establish the ISO and ASTM standards and codes for 3D printing in the construction industry.

Does Hyperion sell 3D printers?

No, we don’t. We think we can add more to the whole value chain of a project by providing a comprehensive solution from design and engineering, low-carbon material to manufacturing by 3D printing technology.

CAN HYPERION'S PRODUCTS WITHSTAND HARSH WEATHER CONDITION?

Our concrete has a low permeability and low water/cement ratio. Combined with the use of supplementary cementitious material, our printing mix has a high resistance to chloride attack, sulfate attack and carbonation. Also, the test performed to Finnish standard SFS 7022 shows that Hyperion’s material outperformed standard concrete thanks to its low water/cement ratio and dense matrix.
